What to include
- Your operating system and its version.
- The application version.
- The output of the wtf doctor command: it shows what works on your machine and what is missing, and why.
- The log file wtf.log from the data folder (see the privacy page for its location). Remove anything private before sending it.
Common problems
macOS: no window snapshots
Allow the app under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. If the app is only ad-hoc signed and macOS refuses to open it, remove the quarantine flag with xattr -cr on the app.
Linux GNOME: no tray icon
The tray icon on GNOME needs the AppIndicator extension. Without it, start the application again to bring the window back.
Linux Wayland
The active window and snapshot work in GNOME, KDE Plasma, Sway and Hyprland, each in its own way. In other compositors only X11/XWayland windows are visible. Run wtf doctor to see the details.
AI does not start
The built-in engine is available for macOS on Apple silicon, Linux x64 and Windows x64. On other systems use an external AI server or switch AI off. wtf doctor shows the state.
